THIS JUST HAPPENED:
60 seconds before Iona officially began practice and concluded its stretching, the theme of JAWS was played over the loud speakers before Rick Pitino entered the gym to brace the team for his arrival.

Two early observations at Iona:
1. Just like he did at Louisville, Rick Pitino is wearing a microphone at practice.
2. Iona is being trained to not take contested shots.Pitino: "20 percent of contested shots go in."

Iona has a fascinating long term prospect in sophomore Osborn Shema. 7-1, but only 200 pounds. Needs to get on the meal plan!

Early prediction on Iona's 20-21 starting five:
Asante Gist, Isaiah Ross, Omar Rowe, Dylan Van Eck, Osborn Shema

Rick Pitino tells me that Iona will be in the Orlando Invitational in 2021 and the Battle 4 Atlantis in 2022.

Rick Pitino also tells me that Iona and BYU plan to start a home-and-home series during the 21-22 season.
The initial location is TBD, but Iona's home game in the series will be at Madison Square Garden. https://t.co/XZFqiSUuKc
